Antique 1858 Colen Cheshire Birmingham Sterling Silver Forest Scene Match Case.
Stunning antique 1858 match case featuring an embossed forest scene of a men hunting. Surrounding the men and enclosed within their own ivy "frame" are birds, deer and rabbits. The case is in excellent condition, with some slight warping of the inner layer, where the lid secures closed. The case is stamped with english silver marks and research has dated this piece to 1858 in Birmingham and was made by Colen Cheshire.
